Known for its intricate design, the six-story Ciyou Temple features more than a hundred Taoist and Buddhist deities, flying dragons on its roof top, amazing stonework and wood carvings, and layers of oil lamps lighted by devotees inside. Be sure to get to the sixth floor to see the Jade Emperor’s shrine with incredible colors and craftsmanship.

Enjoy tasty Taiwanese snacks at the popular Raohe Night Market, just a five-minute walk from amba Taipei Songshan hotel.
Known for its Taiwanese snacks, Raohe is the first night market in Taiwan, dating back to the mid-18th century. Not to be missed are pepper meat buns, spare ribs stewed in herbal soup, oyster vermicelli, duck meat, stinky tofu, and traditional desserts. In addition to local snacks, you’ll also find everything from the latest fashion and accessories to fortune tellers and electronics. The market is open from 5:00 pm to 12:00 midnight.

Only a few minutes’ walk from amba Taipei Songshan hotel is the iconic, “S” shaped Rainbow Bridge. Designed for pedestrians and bikers, the 167-meter long bridge connects the Songshan and Neihu districts. You can literally walk to Neihu from Songshan within minutes.
Don’t forget your camera! The bridge is one of the most photographed landmarks in Taipei, particularly in the evening when it is lit up and its striking profile is reflected in the river. It is a must-visit before heading to the nearby Raohe Night Market.

Wufenpu, which literally means “five tracts of land”, was purchased by five Fujianese families as farm land, and has become the garment district since the 1960s. While the market caters to wholesalers, it is increasingly attracting individual shoppers due to its efforts to keep up with the trends. There is a wide range of garments to choose from, particularly women’s wear and kids’ clothing.

Experience Taipei in a new way – take a relaxing river cruise and embark at Xikou Wharf, just a few minutes’ walk from amba Taipei Songshan hotel.
Located on Songhe Street near Water Gate 4, Xikou Wharf was once a trade center for commodities from across the island. In the Qing Dynasty, Songshan was referred to as Xikou.
The wharf has since been restored and become part of the Blue Highway ferry service. Blue Highway offers river cruises on weekends and public holidays. The adjacent riverbank is ideal for strolling, jogging, and biking, and is often used for concerts during the summer months.
